GENERAL INFO

While it may appear to be just another Christmas tree lot with wreaths, mistletoe, and Noble and Douglas Firs, some very important characteristics differentiate the Wesley/North Hollywood First United Methodist Church Tree Lot from many others.

  1. It’s an all-volunteer run operation.
  2. Net proceeds go to a multitude of programs and agencies dedicated to helping those in need.
  3. As a complimentary service, trees can be secured to the roofs of customer’s vehicles at their request.
  4. For a distance-based fee, trees can be delivered.

Your tree/ efforts supported in the past

UMCOR

Provides humanitarian relief and disaster response in the United States and internationally. Our efforts are targeted in places where natural disasters, war, or conflict have done so much damage that communities are unable to recover on their own. While UMCOR is not a first-response organization, we stand ready to accompany communities in need over the long haul of their recovery, until they are well on their way to establishing a “new normal” after a crisis.

BOY & GIRL SCOUTS OF AMERICA

The Scouts of America has a proven track record of shaping youth into people of outstanding character, people who understand the meaning of accountability and the importance of servant leadership.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING GROUP

The Environmental Working Group’s mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment. With breakthrough research and education, we drive consumer choice and civic action. EWG’s groundbreaking research has changed the debate over environmental health. From households to Capitol Hill, EWG’s team of scientists, policy experts, lawyers, communication experts and programmers has worked tirelessly to make sure someone is standing up for public health when government and industry won’t. Through our reports, online databases, mobile apps and communications campaigns, EWG is educating and empowering consumers to make safer and more informed decisions about the products they buy and the companies they support. In response to consumer pressure, companies are giving up potentially dangerous chemical ingredients in their products and improving their practices.

CARE KITS FOR THE HOMELESS

Care Kits for the Homeless is a uniquely NoHo 1st United Methodist Church Project.  Twice a year we make up hundred plus Care Kits containing Water, food, hygiene products, and information about local shelter for our members to carry in their cars and give out when they see someone in Need on the Streets.

HEIFER INTERNATIONAL

Believes all people deserve dignity, opportunity, and a future free from hunger. We believe we provide the tools of transformation to bring about that opportunity. We believe one cow can transform a life. But we know one animal alone doesn’t lead to sustainable change.

IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local officials to secure immediate victim rescue and aftercare, to prosecute perpetrators and to ensure that public justice systems – police, courts and laws – effectively protect the poor.  IJM’S Vision is to rescue thousands, protect millions and prove that justice for the poor is possible.

RED BIRD MISSION

Red Bird Mission and Clinic have been in the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. Today the need remains critical in this isolated, rural distressed area. Chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged mountainous terrain provide obstacles to a fuller life for the residents of this area. Red Bird Mission and Clinic strives to meet these needs through ministry in five areas: Education, Health and Wellness, Community Outreach, Economic Opportunity, and Community Housing Improvement.

SAN FERNANDO RESCUE MISSION

The program has been designed to provide homeless men, women, children and families an opportunity, not only to obtain food, shelter, and basic life necessities, but also provides a foundation for individual and family restoration by developing a personalized plan based on their needs for achieving personal growth, employment, and housing.

TINY LOVING CANINES

TLC’s Mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned and neglected dogs, saving them from certain death in the local shelters.
