We hope to see you on the Advent journey and Christmas Eve celebration at NoHo First UMC! Advent is the approximately 4 weeks before Christmas where we “make room” for Jesus and prepare our hearts to celebrate his birth once again. We will begin with the lighting of the first Advent candle in worship on Sunday, November 26 and keep lighting one more candle on each of the following three Sundays. Then on Christmas Eve at 7:00 PM, we will light the Christ candle and everyone will get to light their own candle as we sing together “Silent Night.” If you are looking for an Advent devotional to read during the season, Pastor Chamie has a flyer with several suggestions depending on what tugs at your heart. One great way to live fully into this season is by coming to the Advent mini retreat on Sat, Dec 2, from 8:30 to 11:30 AM on the NoHo campus. Included in the retreat is you leaving with a little Advent bag of resources to help you journey with meaning, simplicity, beauty, and peacefulness through the season.
